Considering counselling?

Are you considering counselling?

Is something stopping you?

You might be considering counselling but you may have some questions or some worries about it.

Do you worry that you might be judged or patronized? Or that you might have to do something you would feel uncomfortable about? Does the media image of counselling put you off? Do you wonder if coming to counselling means you have done something wrong, or failed somehow or that it is a sign of weakness or not coping?

I hope I can put your mind at rest and encourage you to make that first step.
I am a friendly, warm, approachable person who will provide you with a safe, confidential space to talk about what is going on for you. It may be that working alongside me may be just what you need to see things with more or different perspective. I won’t invite you to lie on a couch. I won’t be writing on a clipboard. I won’t be judgemental or patronizing. I won’t pretend I’m an expert on you. I believe you are your own expert and that you have the capability to change. We will build our therapeutic relationship together and work in a way that suits you. I am client-led. That means I put you first. I will listen to you without judgement or prejudice and work to understand things from your unique point of view.

You can watch my video here to help you make up your mind. Counselling -What happens in therapy and is it for me?

What could change for you?

You may feel calmer, less stressed and understood. You could find that you communicate better. You could achieve a happier work-life balance or be kinder to yourself. You may begin to understand why you do the things you do and how you can change this. You could begin to really understand what you want and need and make positive changes. You will be in control of all of this.
