What happens in a counselling session?

Our sessions would be “one to one” therapy where we are together in the same room or working via Zoom or telephone.

The counselling session is your time to talk about whatever you need to. It is a private, undisturbed and safe time. We might talk about your life events (past and present), your feelings, emotions, relationships, ways of thinking and patterns of behaviour. I might ask you questions to understand you better or to suggest things you have not considered, like offering a different perspective. We may work together to try out new ways of being, or to see different points of view or to say things out loud that you have never said before. We will only do what you feel comfortable with and at your pace. You may become emotional during a session and that is ok and normal.

Each session is 50 minutes long.

“Sometimes you just need to talk about something – not to get sympathy or help but just to kill its power by allowing the truth of things to hit the air.”  Karen Salmansohn
